COVID-19 RELIEF
COVID-19 Relief Effort
I am just so overwhelmed with your kindness and generosity. It fills my heart. I’ve never used a food bank or asked for assistance in all my years but I found it was necessary for me to do so. You made this experience seamless and my dignity is still intact.

Individuals supported so far
In early March 2020, amid the growing concerns of the COVID-19 pandemic, the United Muslim Organizations of Ottawa-Gatineau (UMO-OG) began working to develop a grassroots response with the goal of supporting the most vulnerable members of our community. To date, we have delivered food hampers, hygiene supplies and PPE kits to thousands of people across Ottawa-Gatineau. We have also worked alongside the Ottawa Food Bank to deliver 400 food hampers and worked with the Ottawa Public Library over the summer to distribute 200 activity kits to newcomer children.
The services are directed at those most affected by the pandemic, and include grocery pick-up, free food boxes, hygiene supplies, and counselling services through the Muslim Family Services Ottawa.
